Monday, April 13, 2026-Entire communities in southern Lebanon are being wiped off the map as Israel intensifies its military campaign, with residents describing a reality where “everything is gone.”
Reports indicate that villages such as Taybeh, Naqoura, and Deir Seryan have been systematically demolished, often through large-scale controlled explosions that flatten homes and infrastructure in seconds. The destruction is so extensive that returning residents are finding nothing but rubble where neighborhoods once stood.
Israel maintains that the operations are targeting Hezbollah infrastructure embedded within civilian areas, arguing the demolitions are necessary for security and part of a broader plan to create a buffer zone along the border.
However, critics—including humanitarian organizations and international observers—warn that the scale of devastation may violate international law, especially where civilian homes and essential services are destroyed.
The humanitarian toll is rapidly worsening. More than a million people have reportedly been displaced, with the entire area now inaccessible due to ongoing fighting and destruction. Aid agencies are raising alarm over attacks near medical facilities and the growing strain on healthcare systems.
As ground assaults expand and airstrikes continue, hopes for de-escalation remain uncertain—leaving civilians trapped between military objectives and a deepening humanitarian crisis.
