Friday, July 24, 2026 - A team of detectives from the DCI Headquarters Operation Action Team (OAT) has arrested three notorious robbery suspects linked to a string of violent robberies in Westlands and other parts of Nairobi and recovered a Retay Falcon pistol.
Following painstaking investigations that meticulously
pieced together the suspects' criminal trail, detectives conducted an
intelligence-led operation along Ngina Road in Kawangware, leading to the
arrest of Nimrod Khayeshe, alias Buba.
Upon interrogation, the suspect led detectives to his
alleged accomplices, Vangelis Njungi, alias Vangi, and Patrick Kingato, who
were subsequently arrested.
During the operation, detectives recovered a Retay Falcon
pistol fitted with a magazine loaded with three rounds of 9mm ammunition.
They also recovered two motorcycles, registration numbers
KMGT 497W and KMHG 829H, believed to have been used as getaway bikes during the
robberies.
The three suspects are currently in police custody
undergoing processing pending their arraignment in court.
The recovered pistol and motorcycles have been detained as
exhibits.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the operation underscores its commitment to relentlessly pursuing criminals and dismantling criminal networks through intelligence-led operations across the country.
