“I am not going to be a slave of marriage - Kayole pastor says as he dumps his Akorino wife of 8 years and marries another woman (PHOTOs)

Thursday, July 23, 2026 - A Nairobi preacher identified as Apostle Ibu wa Kayole has publicly revealed that he has ended his marriage to his Akorino wife of eight years and remarried another woman.

Speaking to his congregation, the outspoken preacher disclosed that he separated from his first wife in October last year and that the divorce process is now underway.

According to the pastor, the decision to remarry was entirely his own, adding that his new wife is not a member of the Akorino faith.

“In October last year I separated with my first wife, but now we are going to actually divorce. By my own decision I decided to marry again and my wife is not a mokorino,” he told the congregation.

Apostle Ibu said he chose to inform his followers personally out of respect and transparency, explaining that he wanted them to hear the news directly from him before it circulated on social media.

“I am just telling you because I have a responsibility to you as your apostle so that when you see it, you know,” he said.

He also acknowledged the speed at which news spreads online, saying he preferred to address the matter openly rather than respond to speculation later.

“Now you know that when you see it online you heard it here first,” he added.

The pastor maintained that he was at peace with his decision and made it clear that he would not remain in a marriage that denied him peace of mind.

“To anyone who feels they can't be served by a preacher who divorced and remarried, the door is right there. I am not going to be a slave of marriage and live without any peace,” he declared.
