DRAMA as an 18-year-old lady is arrested trying to sneak jailbreak tools hidden in a plate of food to suspects at Ruai Police Station (PHOTOs)

Wednesday, September 16, 2026 - A visit to Ruai Police Station to deliver food to remanded suspects took an unexpected turn after officers uncovered tools meant to help them break out of custody.

Christine Njoki Gitau, 18, arrived at the station carrying a plate of rice and meat, claiming she had come to deliver the meal to three friends being held at the station.

The three suspects, Emmanuel Bosire, Ismael Arisa and Brian Gatheru, are facing allegations of robbery with violence and other serious crimes.

They are accused of operating an anonymous TikTok page which they allegedly used to lure young women into meetings before attacking and robbing them of their valuables.

However, the cell sentry became suspicious and subjected the food to a routine check.

Hidden beneath the rice and meat were a pair of pliers and a shear, raising suspicion that the tools were intended to facilitate the suspects’ escape.

Christine was immediately arrested as detectives launched investigations into the suspected jailbreak plot and whether other individuals were involved.

The DCI has warned that aiding or attempting to aid an escape from lawful custody is a serious criminal offence, and those found involved will face the full force of the law.
